Our reverse image search tool is a robust feature designed to help you verify identities by matching faces across the entire internet. While the technology is complicated, it is built to help you find the receipts you need to stay safe.

  • The tool searches for facial matches across the web to locate public social media accounts.

  • Results are typically more accurate for individuals who have an active and public online presence.

  • This technology is not a perfect science and cannot guarantee a match 100% of the time.

  • If a person's social media accounts are set to private, they may not appear in the search results.

  • The tool is constantly scanning the internet to find the most recently posted images for comparison.

SEARCHING FOR DATING APP PROFILES

It is important to note that our reverse image search does not return results from dating apps. If you are trying to find out if someone is currently active on dating platforms, you should use our other community tools.

  • Your best option is to search the "Posts" area to see if another user has already shared information about him.

  • You can create your own post to inquire if anyone else in the community has seen him recently.

  • Searching the community history often provides more direct insights into dating app activity than a web-wide image search.

TROUBLESHOOTING AND PERMISSIONS 

If the feature isn't working as expected, it usually comes down to your phone settings or the status of the external social media post.

 Fixing camera and photo access (expand) 

  • Open the Settings app on your mobile device.

  • Scroll down to find and select the Tea app.

  • Ensure that permissions for Camera and Photos are toggled to "On" or "All Photos."

  • If you previously rejected these permissions, the app will be unable to open your camera roll until you update these settings.

If a social media link in your search results isn't working, it is likely that the original post or profile was recently deleted. If you cannot find a match, it may mean the individual has a very limited online footprint or high privacy settings.

ACCESSING YOUR SEARCH HISTORY

You don't have to run the same search twice if you want to refer back to your findings. We keep a record of your past searches so you can access the information whenever you need it.

 Clarification (expand) 

  • You can view all of your past search results by clicking the purple history button located in the top right corner of the image search area.

  • Your history allows you to quickly re-verify social media links you have found in previous sessions.
